Kuala Lumpur Tour Day - Tuesday April 10
Eva set us up with driver for a tour on the day before the new king was inaugurated. KL Tower gave us perspective on Malaysia's capital city; very old Jamek Mosque;Sultan Abdul Samad Ministry; St Mary's Cathedral (makeup for Easter); Independence Square where 1957 freedom from British rule; Negra - new national palace where new king inaugurated today; mammoth Batu Caves Indian Temple with 250 steps straight up in 100 degrees F leading to shrine and monkeys in cave. Due to daily prayers in Muslim Mosque we were refused entry. Visit to shops in Central Market 1888 vintage had unique crafts but too much stuff. Chinese Market experience had even more very cheap riped off stuff. The memorable experience at the end of a great day was losing our driver for 45 minutes. Finally made phone contact much to our relief. Yeh for international roaming.
